Following up on the success of the AFSA-SRAN hosted Building the Movement for Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Forum in Johannesburg South Africa in December 2018, Kenya through NAYA-Kenya Chapter, Uganda through ROCA and Tanzania through The Foundation of Tomorrow in a bid to promote SRHR Advocacy at a sub regional level came up with an East Africa Community Sub Regional initiative to drive policy advocacy and put SRHR higher up the community development agenda including driving the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals. This also includes leveraging on the youth bulge as a critical mass to connect ideas and action to advance SRHR without leaving anyone behind. The 3 organizations are going to lead an East African Community SRHR promotion and policy advocacy networking hub at sub national, national, sub regional and regional levels through community engagement partnerships to raise awareness, increase and improve knowledge on SRHR & SRHR neglect issues, improving access to decision making spaces with the knowledge, skills, practices and attitude to demand accountability.
